Giovanni Nicelli Airport is located in the prestigious setting of Venice Lido, on the northern part of the island just a ten-minute boat ride from the city center. The air terminal, a perfectly preserved example of 1930s architecture begun in 1926 and solemnly inaugurated on February 4, 1935, is the oldest commercial airport in Italy. In 2014 the airport was included in the BBC’s list of the world’s ten most beautiful by Jonathan Glancey. Equipped with elegant indoor spaces and spacious gardens and outdoor terraces, it is an ideal location for meetings and conferences, dinners and private events, exclusive parties, art exhibitions and film shoots.
